iPod touch 5!

Apparently, Apple wasn't satisfied with just only presenting the iPhone 5, so it also rolled out it's new iPod touch 5. The iPod touch 5th generation now has a form factor similar to that of the iPhone 5. The display was also stretched vertically to 4 inches, has an aluminum body that is available in many colors, and has a 1080p iSight camera. It also features the Dual core A5 chip, and has a super thin body. And after the iOS 6 update, it will aso have Siri as a feature. Also coming with the new iPod are the Apple EarPods, a new kind of headphone that has vibrant sound and provides a rich experience unlike any other. In all, the new iPod is excellent and it seems like a worthy thing to buy.

iPhone 5!

Wow. I just realized what a long time it has been since I've touched this blog. It's like a welcome back for me to post on this blog again. Just yesterday, September 12th, Apple unveiled the iPhone 5! Oh boy, what a sight it is. A 4 inch HD Retina display, an Apple A6 core, 4G LTE, Nano SIM, Lightning dual sided charger, Siri, iOS 6, and a whole bunch of new features. Thinner profile, Lighter weight, longer battery life, faster speed, and many more compressed into a package that size, is very impressive. I figure that my iPad (First gen) gets 4 1/2 hours of usage on full charger, but the iPhone 5 gets 8 hours on a 4G LTE network. Like I said, very impressive. And, in iOS 6, it now features an application called Passbook, Apple created Maps application with turn-by-turn directions, full Facebook integration, and many more things. They also removed YouTube and Google Maps in iOS 6, so now the YouTube app is not in default integration, but needs to be accessed via browser. The iPhone 5 is available for pre-order for $199 USD for 8GB model and is with AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint. All in all, if you are looking for an advanced, excellently crafted, amazing phone, I would suggest buying the iPhone 5.

Party How-to

Party How-to for the Funtastic party crew
There are many elements to a successful party. There are games, different kinds of food, and just plain old-fashioned party traditions. In order to have the spiderman/soccer-themed party that we have planned for Luke, you need the following supplies.

You will need a Spiderman party pack, a soccer ball, food items, working Windows computer(XP, Vista, 7, or 8 Consumer or Developer preview), provided computer games dvd, goodie bag, invitations, piñata, big speakers, invitees, table, cleaning supplies, cool drinks (soda, juice, ice water, etc), tablecloth, decorations, gaming kiosk, 2 Xbox controllers, a Windows-supported external mouse, and a tablet or phone (Android,iPad,iPhone,iPod). Also includes a “Party Songs” album provided and upload it to iTunes or Google Play/Music.

Step one
Invite people
In order to have a successful party, you first have to invite people. Make sure to invite Luke’s friends, and not anybody else. A great way to find out who all are Luke’s friends is to observe who he hangs out with. Make sure to invite people that he knows and that he plays with. Please make sure to give them the invitations and fill out the date, time, and contact info.

Step two
Get the house set up
In order to host a successful party, you need to have a clean house. Clean up the whole house, dust all the areas, and wash the bathtub and sinks all throughout the house. You want to clean up all the areas that you think people might use, like all the rooms and the bathrooms throughout the house.
Step three
Get all the materials
Gather all the materials needed for the party. This is everything else and the cleaning supplies. Place it in a space where all the materials are easily accessible.

Step four
Get food set up
The fourth step is to get the food set up. Place the table in a place where it is pretty inconspicuous. You should place it in that kind of place because if kids were to notice all the delicacies then they would go to that before the party. Place the tablecloth over the table and carefully set all the items on it so that it fits.

Step five
Decorate the house
Like at any successful party, you need to decorate the house. Hang up banners, put up balloons, hang up streamers, and just put up all the decorations that you have. You can also hang up things that you make. Just make the whole house colorful and decorative.

Step six
Set up computerized entertainment and normal games
Place the gaming kiosk in a corner of the central party area. You might want to make it noticeable, so that kids actually go to it. Open the DVD drive on your computer, insert the DVD, and then place it into the kiosk. Then connect the two Xbox controllers to the PC. Run FIFA 12 off the disk and let it load all it’s gaming stats. There will be instructions on-screen on how to play. If the kids want any other games, also run those. You will have to use an external mouse in order to control it. Close the current game and then open up the next one. The preferred operating system for this is Windows 7, Ultimate edition preferably. In order to set up the normal games, follow all the directions for setup and place it all around the party area.

Step seven
Finalize all party preparations
In this step, you will finalize all party preparations. Plug in the speakers to the computer and place them on the sides of the kiosk. Get the tablet set up with the music playing. Turn up the volume to the maximum, and then play it during the party. Make sure your house is clean, you have all the decorations set up, and that you have everything set up as described.

Step eight
Begin the party
After guests have started coming to your house, welcome them inside and have them sit in one place. After all the guests have come, start with handing out appetizers. These include the chips and dip, cookies, etc. Make sure everybody finishes eating before going on to the next step.

Step nine
Play the normal party games and the arcade
The next step is to play all the games for the party. You need to have previously set up the game stalls for each and now make a lines of kids for each. Let them lay for a while. and then after all the activities give them the rewards that they earned. For the arcade game, let each person choose their reward from the collection available. In this part, make sure to play the party songs collection. Simply let it play for this duration and if you have extra speakers, plug it into the tablet or phone.

Step ten

Eat cake and other food items
In this step, you will have dinner/lunch/whatever mealtime you will eat at. Follow the standard cake procedure for all parties, get everybody seated, and eat the food. Make sure everybody gets enough time to eat. Pass out the utensils from the Spiderman Party Pack

Step eleven
Piñata time!!!
Take everyone to the backyard or any open space. Hang up the piñata and have all the kids blindfolded and let them hit it till it bursts. There should be enough candy inside to satisfy everyone. You can also play the “Party Songs” album while this is going on. The most suggested one is called “Piñata Time!”

Step twelve
Clean-up and Concluding the Party
In this step you will be cleaning up. Set up the cleaning-up competition and let the games begin. After the clean up game is completed, tell everyone the party is over, give them the goodie bag, and watch as they leave.

If done properly, the party should be an extremely fun experience. All the kids should be saying how much they enjoyed and especially Luke should enjoy it. Happy Birthday Luke!

Meat from scratch

Can you imagine something that looks, tastes, and smells like meat, but is not? That's what is happening now. Scientists are now making meat in a laboratory-using stem cells from animals. Studies show that meat is affecting the Earth by releasing emissions. So a scientist named Mark Post decided to take this up.If it all goes according to Mark Post's plan, He'll be on TV in a few months eating a hamburger that costs double the price of a house.

Post took stem cells from cows and grew them in the lab, where he produced more and more of them. Stem cells are basically bags of protein, and Post manipulated these and made them look like meat. This process of making artificial meat is environment friendly, but also expensive. We can only hope that we cut down on animal consumption in the near future.

Does Internet Explorer 9 really live up to it's hype?

We all know that Microsoft has made Internet Explorer for it's Windows products, but does the new version, IE9 really live up to it's hype? Let's find out.

First off the bat, IE9 is only for Windows Vista and 7, so XP users cannot get the newest edition. That is one of the downsides of the new Internet Explorer.  Internet Explorer has full integration with Windows 7, allowing you to even pin your favorite sites onto the taskbar, so you can access them instantly. Since Vista and 7 have Aero themes, IE makes all your websites shine and is fully integrated in Aero. This gives it a nice new look and makes any website shine. IE9 is programmed in HTML5, and has many apps for it, such as Cut The Rope.

Internet Explorer 9 is a fresh new browser and is one of the simplest to use yet one of the best.

Switching Off Your Lights Has a Bigger Impact Than You Might Think, Says New Study

Switching off lights, turning the television off at the mains and using cooler washing cycles could have a much bigger impact on reducing carbon dioxide emissions from power stations than previously thought, according to a new study published in the journal Energy Policy. The study shows that the figure used by government advisors to estimate the amount of carbon dioxide saved by reducing people's electricity consumption is up to 60 percent too low. So think twice about leaving the lights on in your bedroom or keeping your desktop on even thought the night. All these little things can help reduce Carbon Dioxide emissions coming from power plants. Turning the power off when not needed is a great way to conserve and best of all, it's simple and easy to do. Just remember to remind yourself to turn off the lights when you are leaving somewhere or when it is not needed. It is one of the easiest ways to reduce Co2 emissions and to make our world a better place.
